Golden Valley Nursery

In 1978, Golden Valley Nursery was founded by Truman Bracket. This small family-run retail nursery started out in Tulare County, Ca. In 2000, Truman and his brother, Willy, moved the nursery to the town of Tracy, Ca. At that time, there were also two other nurseries serving the area: Windy Hills Nursery, which closed in 2008, and M&M, which will be closing in 2015.

Golden Valley Nursery was purchased by Ken Bice, the current owner, in 2006. Ken studied Construction Management at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. In order to put him and his wife through college, he started a landscape construction company with his good friend, Gary Crandall. They called it B&C Lawn Care and Sprinkler. For three years they learned the ins and outs of landscape construction and maintenance.

Ken moved to California in 1990 with his wife, Sheila, and son, Scott, to pursue a career in Landscape Construction. After 16 successful years in the trade, Ken hung up the shovel and purchased Golden Valley Nursery. He and his family still live in Tracy. Ken manages the nursery and is aided by the following staff members: Eugene, Cassidy, Wendy, Isaiah, Kayla, Michelle, and Uncle Ivan

Since 2006, the Nursery has grown to 7 acres of plant production/sales area and boasts one of the largest nurseries open to the public in the area. Golden Valley Materials also added 3.5 acres of material supplies, owned and operated separately.
